Wayne help: Removing door lock assembly on 2006 Boxster
my 2006 Boxster has an intermittent problem with the door lock switch, sometimes it won't lock and gives a double beep when using the remote, (manual turn the key no problem)
Wayne i went through the tech articles regarding the door lock module, and the door panels, and i'm sort of lost between the removal of the door panel and getting to the door lock assembly. specifically ; Q1. what has to be done to the glass on the 987's does it have to come out? before i can pull the inner shell off to remove the door lock, Q2 is this covered in the book? thanks in advance for your input

For reference, here's the link to the article: Pelican Technical Article: Boxster Door Panel Removal / Boxster Mirror Switch Replacement - 986 / 987
Q1: nope, the glass doesn't come out - simply roll the window up all the way. Q2: covered in the book, and in the article above. Let me know if you have any specific questions after reading the article. See Figure 9 for the 987 door panel. -Wayne

door panel is off
guess first i should order the book...
from the pictures i saw in the article above #9 just deals with removing the 987 door panel, but it looks like there is secondary panel attached to the door which to has to be removed before the door lock assembly can be pulled out

There should be a foam / moisture barrier that simply pulls off of the door. Very easy. After that, everything should be relatively easy to access underneath...
