Which IMS Bearing? Single or Double row?

Hi All, this is probably a dumb question but how do I Interpret my engine number

M96/2167YD1546 to what's in Wayne's book.

I have a 2000 Boxster S and unfortunately won't know what version of the IMS bearing is needed until the tranny is off. But would like a most likely guess.

From Wayne's book:

Up to engine # M671 11237 Boxster S 3.2 M96.21
From engine # M651 11238 Boxster S 3.2 M96.21

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, for 00-01 model years using the engine serial number is not always a guarantee of predicting which style bearing is actually in it. Several widely recognized subject matter “experts” have published lists, only to subsequently be proven wrong. We never order a replacement kit until we see the actual unit that is in the engine; not the most effective use of time, but has proven to always be correct…………
