Ignition replaced, issue

Replaced the ignition in my 98 Boxster, triptonic trans. I replaced the whole shooting match, mechanical and electrical. Now it exhibits the same symptoms as before. Will start, then wont start. Have to remove the key, reinsert, try, another 2 to 3 times the in will start. Triple checked all connections before reassembly. Battery is good.
Any chance it could be a relay? Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Jim

BTW, its nice to have a crisp ignition again. If it just worked consistantly.

Switch that detects the car is in park maybe? Mine was and a squirt of lube freed the linkage up and never had a problem again.

Went back through the electrical connections on the outside chance one was not fully plugged in, even bought a new battery, and now nothing. Mike, where did you lube yours? Its almost like the security system has been tripped. I dont know where else to look.

Any suggestions?
