FS: race seat + 6 pt harness + all the hardware
The track season has just started (for me out West, and will hopefully soon start for all of us). If you caught the A/X or DE bug, but you re still sliding around on your stock seats, barely held in place by your 3-pt harness and hang on your steering wheel for dear life, then I got a deal for you.
I am selling an used fiberglass race seat plus 6 point harness plus EVERYTHING you need to install it in your 986 or 996. This is coming out of my 986 and is a complete set of everything you need and it's guaranteed to fit in a 986, so no more browsing on various web sites and agonizing what will fit with what. This is in detail: * Momo "NASCAR" fiberglass race seat (it's "narrow" so you will fit up to jeans size 36) * side mounts for the seat (connect the seat to the floor mount bracket) * floor mount bracket (to mount the seat to the floor) * G-Force 6 point camlock harness (you want camlock as it's much easier to get in and out than with the belts with the cheaper locks). The belts are 3" wide and work with and w/o HANS and are good through 2013 * Additional receptacle for the existing 3 point seat belt (you need this as this needs to get plugged into the existing wiring harness so you don't throw an airbag warning light. And switching the exiting receptacle from your stock seat is a major pain in the behind. An added benefit is that you can use your 3 point harness to/from the track) * one pair of G-Force shoulder pads * a set of seat paddings (you will appreciate them on the way to and from the track) * One Brey-Krause R-9003 Outside Seat Belt Mount Kit (you only need the outside kit as the inside belt is mounted directly to the seat). This setup does not include sliders, for the simple reason that sliders will add 1" of height and you will have problems passing broomstick. This setup will drop you by about 1.5" ~ 2" (see photo to compare height between stock and my setup) All of this is "previously owned" but barely used as this was my passenger setup (I only used it once as the driver setup which you can see in the picture). If you buy all of this new you would pay north of $1,000. I am letting the whole set go for $600. The price is fix. I don't have to sell it, I just don't need it anymore and before it just sits in my garage and collects dust, I rather let have someone else have fun with it. I am willing to ship (even though local pickup would be preferred) and can give you a quote if you give me your ZIP code. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very nice setup.
I've certainly caught the DE bug and need a racing seat but I'm short in the torso and if I lose 1.5" in the seat height I'll have to look through the steering wheel (I have no problem passing broomstick with stock seat). Also, my rear end is more like 40" than a 36".

Hi David,
cheapest FedEx shipping I could find is around $150 But it seems to change by the inch, if the package would be 2" shorter it would be $105. Can't tell for sure how much it will exactly be w/o actually packing it. Here's my offer: I won't charge you more than $150 for shipping and if it's actually less, I'll refund you the difference Regards Chris

Your offer and gesture is really kind, but economically it would make sense to buy local...
Although, I will be keeping an eye for that particular seat, as I am quite 'narrow' ![]() I have found that most seats are too large for me in the waist, I need something 32-34 size. But any case, here is a bumpa roo for you. D |

any word from your 'mini buddy'?
I have a track day on July 16th at ORP and would love to be sorted by then. I noticed in your pics that you have a matching set of these seats. You interested in selling both? and buying yourself a shiny new one with the funds? Aaron |

Chris,
I'm glad you are getting good use of the Momo seats I sold you a few years ago - they really hold you in place - and Momo makes quality hardware. Looks like you added some parts to make it complete. Good luck with the sale ![]() Take care, Roy My sons and I had a great time with the Boxster on the track and autocross ![]() ![]() ![]() |
