ROW remap stops P0410 and P1141 codes
I have a 2000 Boxster S, with a 2001 3.2 motor. The car was spending too much shop time trying to troubleshoot a recurring CEL indicating P0410 and P1411. Each time one of the items in the troubleshooting checklist would be checked-off, the CEL would return after 3-4 days/3-400 miles. The trouble tree is long and I got tired of having to drop off my DD every time the light came on.
I got Pedro from Pedro's Garage to reflash my DME to the ROW setting. Among other things, this turns off the monitoring of the SAI system. Now, I can pull the SAI pump which weighs 4-5 lbs. I will have to plug the hose which connects to the pump and seal the electrical connector. I have desnorkled the car and done the "getto" exhaust mod where the inner part of the outlet is opened to the center chamber of the muffler. Now that the DME was reset and has relearned the settings, the car seems to run even better than before. IIRC the euro 3.2 had a few more HP than the US version. I should have the euro HP now. I'm chasing the same codes.
I am tempted to do the same, but I guess after your fix, the car will not pass state emissions testing. |
