Pulsed Injection or Continuous Injection

Hi,

I have a 2000 S Boxter, in Southern California.... does anyone know if my Porsche is Pulsed Injected or Continuous Injected ?

Thanks

so would that be Pulsed Injected... ? I'm reading a Bosch Fuel Injected Engine Management book and they talk about Pulsed and Continuous, not Sequential...

Thanks

On a Continuous Injection System (CIS), injectors have no moving parts, hence, no electrical wires connected to them.

You're reading about the CIS, or Constant Injection from the 2.7 and 3.0 911 days. Since '83 it's been Motronic electronic injection. Some do call it sequential, but that is the obvious point. Some manufacturers called it multi-port injection. Again, pretty obvious but CIS was also multi port.

So you end up with redundant names like multi port sequential (pulsed) electronic fuel injection. All cars since around 1990 have electronically injected motors.

Just to clarify the need for "sequential". Porsche has also used "batch fire" systems in the 944's, pulsing all of the injectors together.

Thanks for the reply !
