Boxster died...

I have 1999 boxster monday the engine light came on and the car died.I had it towed home and it will start, but it will
not run properly. It makes loud noises, Have any idea.
It's been running perfect for around 14 months. No warning at
all. No oil leaks.

If it's making loud noised you don't want to be starting it. you will just make matters worse. Loud noise would indicate something broke internally.
