hi i have a 1999 boxster, i have had it a few months now and it has run great. up to last week. now whenever i accelerate and my rpm gauge reaches 4,000 rpm the engine stalls and drops down to around 2,500 rpm. i had my car smogged a few weeks ago and found that the O2 censor is not working. could this be causing my computer to be on limit mode and not working properly??

Yes, it's very well possible. I would run and check the fuel injection trouble codes and see what the computer is trying to tell you. See this article for details: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/20-FUEL-Code_Reading/20-FUEL-Code_Reading.htm
