issue with a 2006 boxster s

Bought a super clean 2006 boxster s from a copart auction. I have an issue w the motor struggling to star.. it backfires and pops and just wont idle or rev past 1200 rpms.
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions.. I purchased the durametric software and I appear to have no engine codes.
Before I start spending money randomly, I was hoping that the boxster community could provide some ideas or guidance. I will try the following items.
Maf
Crank and camshaft sensors
Fuel pump
Spark plugs and or coils
Vacuum lines
And oil separator
Wondering if anyone has any other suggestions
Thanks
CB

Check fuel pressure. Most of the other problems would cause codes but most of the time low fuel pressure won’t.
Pull a vacuum line off and spray carb cleaner in it while starting and see if it makes a difference.
How many miles on it?
Try unplugging the maf while it’s running and see if it changes.
Keep us posted.

Unplugged the maf, I'm starting to suspect a fuel pump or filter. The car has 72k miles on it and I have all the service records.
It is super clean.
I was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience and could provide some insight on troubleshooting

If it's running that bad, you have to have an engine code. Codes are the starting point so you're not guessing and throwing lots of $$$ at those guesses.

Damn, got 50 psi at each rail... pulling the plugs tomorrow and checking the fuel pressure regulator and the wires/coils tomorrow

Sucks it won’t idle and no codes. So no live running data. Any freeze frame data? On a possible event failure captured? My Autel can usually get history data before clearing faults and freeze frame at time of fault. Being from an auction the car could have been tampered with. Pulled fuses or replays, things unplugged. Ground disconnected. Start at the basics, air, fuel, spark, compression. If it has those 4 things mechanically speaker you’re good.
