I think I also have the same thing going on that Mojoluthier first described, especially the rattling only at idle when its hot. Mojo did the tensioner fix the problem?


Tomk, did you happen to take apart the bad tensioners you removed? I found a small piece of tiny spring in my passenger side variocam filter screen. Just curious if the tensioners do have some sort of check valve spring in them, I think I read that somewhere. If so that might explain the noise I have and where that debris came from.

variocam filter screen?? wow , news to me, didnt know such an item existed. My rattling only occurred on startup. The tensioner on the intermediate shaft was stuck when i removed it, after working on the bench it came free and extended to its full length, however, i can feel a burr on its travel, could be metal debris? I did not take anything apart. Sorry I cant be of more help.
