Cayman Spark plug replacement

Anyone..

I have a 2006 Cayman S I bought with 30k miles on it. Have had it a couple of years now and it's always run great! It now has 40K miles and I decided it was time to replace the plugs while doing routine maintenance. So, after reading the tech article, I pulled the coils and plugs one at a time replacing the plugs with new Bosch replacements. Started the car and had a real bad miss. Pulled the plugs back out and reinstalled. Still missing. OBD trouble code indicates cylinders 3 & 6.....any ideas.......... PS. reused the coils since it had been running well..is there a way to check the coil and/or the ignition leads?

Did you buy the OEM replacement spark plugs or some other Bosch plug? Also, make sure that the wiring connectors are fully on the coil connector. When I replaced the plugs on my '07 Boxster, I rolled back the rubber insulator so I could see/hear that the connector halves mated properly.

If the car wasn't misfiring before you worked on it, then........

I had trouble latching a connector to the coil and discovered the boot had pulled beyond the harness jacket. The only way I could work on it was to remove my top cover and fish it up to the top. I could then fix the harness/boot problem, send it back down and reconnect it. I thought those connections were tricky because it was hard to tell that they had "clicked" home. It wasn't clear to me whether the best way was to push the boot back or leave it in place. I felt like if I did it for a living, I would just be able to squeeze the boot in the right place to release and then push it back on and know it's locked. C.

If we did this for a living, we'd have a lift and our faces would be right there seeing and hearing everything (and the job would take a lot less time to perform!). I had to make sure that I had the side of the car jacked up high enough so I could spin a torque wrench. I wish I had a lift but my wife would divorce me when she saw the delivery truck pulling in the driveway!!!
