I have had my 06 Cayman for the past five years and have enjoyed it very much. 34,000 miles, properly maintained and driven. No track time. It is now burning a quart of oil ever 1000 miles. Only smoke visible is on startup. I was thinking th aos might be failing, but it idles fine and has suction where oil is added. Hoping I don"t have a a scratched cylinder. I would appreciate your thoughts. Dealer said oil consumption is within guidelines. Thanks

Leaking valve stem seals usually lead to smoke on start up but goes away when warming up. A little oil usage is normal with these engines. I hope that helps
