Hey everyone, I'm thinking of getting a 2007 Boxster with 56,517 miles. A Florida dealer is asking for $24,9668, I checked the Carfax and it's clear, no issues what so ever. Any idea on what I should look for before purchasing it? Cost of oil changes? Typical expenses I should expect and their costs? Am I in danger of getting a car who's engine is going to fail and have me spend $15K soon. Any help/ guidance would be greatly appreciated. I have to let him know by this Sat if he should hold it for me. My other option is a 2009 BMW X5 3.0i for $1,500 more. I'm stumped!

Look at our Porsche Boxter forum and look at the BMW forum and see which cars have more serious problems

It's a bit like comparing apples and oranges though...

Get the car inspected.... The computer stores collision data and over rev abuse. The clear car fax or other such reporting is not absolute.I have pleasantly found that doing it your self is not bad (oil change etc.) Check out the tec info center (above tab) for some good info.
