Hi all, I've just taken ownership of a late 2004 987 2.7 tiptronic. When in auto the car gets to 5 th pretty quickly but the revs are low. The car then revs itself slightly whilst at lower speeds and around 2000 rpm? Seems fine when excels rating sharply but doesn't sound good revving up and down whilst travelling at low speed. Any help in identifying what this could be would be greatly appreciated. To be honest I've spent everything on the car wit nothing left for a major repair !

Usually a vacuum leak will cause the engine to surge at idle but not driving down the road. Try cleaning the Mass Air Flow sensor or replacing it
