CEL keeps coming back

I recently bought a Boxster. When I went to do the Emission, it said sensors not ready I drove for a bit and CEL came up, I asked a Mechanic, to take a look
- He said I will clean the sensors that should take care of it, 300 $
- CEL came back after few miles
- Mechanic said I think that MAss air sensor is causing the issue and the error code is showing Vacuum so we have to replace MAF, He did that, 800 $
- CEL came back up

I am tired of spending money on this

Guys, Please help. I cant drive the car since Emission is not clear, no peace of mind, cant enjoy the drive

Many things can trigger a CEL. Post all the trouble codes and folks will be able to help. Without the codes, everyone is just guessing.

MAF sensor is about a 5 minute fix that should cost around $50 or so.
Get the car to a new mechanic IMHO and have the codes checked.

BTW:

If you found a "sensors not ready" condition when having the car smog checked, this probably means the trouble codes were recently cleared by someone. After clearing, it takes several drive cycles before the sensors are ready to start reading again.

The sensors don't detect a vacuum problem directly. They generally show codes like P0410 or P1411, which are secondary air injection system signal implausible codes. They are caused when there is a vacuum system leak, which prevents extra air from being pumped into the exhaust when the car starts from cold.

+1 You need to put about 100 miles on the car for the data to be accumulated. Was the battery disconnected or replaced recently? That could clear the stored data.
