Engine swap 03 boxster to o4 s

Could I swap an engine from an 03 boxster 2.7L to an 04 Boxster S. If yes, is it an easy swap? How much I expect to pay for it? who do you recommend around Rhode Island to do it, that is not the dealer? Thanks in advance

Consider how small a universe might have the experiences necessary to answer the questions you ask.

Few "down-swap" displacement engines so there is lots more experience running around in putting the 3.2 into a 2.7 than the other way around.

And you'd have to have Rhode Island area experience with an independent.

Maybe post on some of the other Boxster Forums to gain a wider audience for your question.

Question

Thanks Mike, I had two answer so far, one in favor and one against, so is very confuse. My situation is that I have both cars and I am no 100% about the 04 Boxster S. The seller toll me that the car was unmolested, that they removed the engine and transmission very carefully, and it looks like that, but I am not a mechanic. That is the reason that I dont want to buy an engine and transmission and then run into a lot of trouble and ending expending a lot of money for something that is not worthy. Thanks again
