oil leak.. need help in locating source..!

i am using the forum for the first time.. not sure whether i should be starting a new thread.. apologies..! i have a Boxster s 2001 with 117,000 miles and this oil leak is the very first.. not much oil but nevertheless..! It is on the drivers side, along but beyond the front-of-the-car edge of the oil pan.. at the edge of the engine.. i will try and load the pics i have take of the spot.. i would be grateful for the help..! the leak, not much, is from the upper right corner part of the picture..

Can't really tell what I'm looking at but it looks to be an oil pan, gasket maybe?
