2004 base spark plug tubes

Hello, I have purchased a 2004 base Boxster a few months ago. I'm slowly doing maintenance on it. Just replaced the spark plugs. I had purchased the tubes also and anticipated changing those also. I didn't need them. There is a metal tube that looks to be integral with the head/valve cover. My question; Do I have a end of year, or early 2005 engine that has an updated design, or what? Thanks for your time in helping me to understand this. Tom

2004 with 32,000 miles.

2003 began the transitional period to non removable tubes.

2003 was the first for non-removable tubes. No change to the engine between 03 and 04.
