Hi! I have a 2000 Boxster S. After I saw forum about the electric key switch not starting, light flickering, etc, so I sure to replace that switch. After I replace the old switch, I discover that the new number4A0905849is already inplace. I bought the car in 2003 I'm the second owner, so it was installed earlier like 01 or 02. Still confused!

So, should I replace for a new 4A0905849 switch again!. Or, do you might have another idea.

I'm just a rookie, so please help!!

Since you have it apart, I would monitor the voltage out of the switch when the problem is present. If the voltage in holds steady and out fluctuates, the switch is faulty.
