986 s DME 7.2 input signals
I was seeing if anyone out there has experienced the same readings i am or has experience diagnosing DME input signals;
Im sure you will notice all the input signals are fine except for Full Load Recognition-which is "closed". It keeps pulling up porsche codes 62,63,66. However during diagnosis of misfire possibilities; all six ignition coils dialed in at the rated .7ohms coil pack boots dialed in below the rated 2000ohms- generally 100-200 ohms below 2000ohms. spark plug condition is new all coil pack connectors dialed in the rated battery voltage-12v min coil pack connection to DME dialed in fine at .2ohms- .2-.3ohms flywheel status z4 dialed in at the rated 0 all 6 fuel injectors dialed in@12.7ohms -within the suggested 11-13ohm range fuel flow tested @ 725ml of fuel, below flow capacity- 850ml per 30sec (likely fuel filter past its service limit) camshaft allocation is in range- as a misfire with bad cam alignment would misfire a whole bank vario cam operation is fine- as there is no misfire in a entire bank & misfire doesn't occur between 1200-1500prm valve lifter chatter isn't likely- there is no valve chatter & the adaptation values in TRA & FRA are NOT NORMAL their is a value that interested me. rough running threshold dialed at 12.6 1/s2 -from the information i've gathered, that value is double than it should be. i know for 996 dial in about that range,im not sure if 986 dail in the same value or not--. perhaps someone has experience with that reading.. misfire occurs@ 4500rpm-ish I'll attach some pics of the TRA/FRA values& the input signal menu. Having said all that. its possible the low fuel flow& coil boots are the root of the problem. However, there probably just roots off the tap root of the problem. In the fuel trims it showing either a vacuum leak or low fuel flow; perhaps both. Backing up through all this though, that input signal of Full Load Recognition, is one of my main concerns- if the DME cant recognize load condition during operation,then it cant properly adjust fuel & ignition trims to compensate for varying loads. So like i said, anyone with experience with a similar circumstance- your suggestions will be considered. -please don't respond with guesses or write something stupid like "switch coils & see if the misfire changes" ![]() ![]() ![]() |
