How to tella 2001 Porsche Boxter Cayman S

Hello Thanks in advance
A guy is selling a 2001 Porsche Boxster Cayman S Model he says ?
Just how do you tell a CAYMAN S Model ?
I am thinking perhaps this is not really a Cayman S Model at all perhaps
Have not looked at the car yet but am going to .
Says it need a engine and a wash job lol
As I understand it all Cayman S Models have a 6 speed Manual ?
is this correct ?
Does a Cayman have a Cayman S Logo on it somewhere ?
Please tell me how to check iof this is the correct Model or not
Also where is the Motor ID Number on the motor so I can check for the right Motor
so I can rebuild it . ( Car is intact with everything he says .

1st Cayman came out in 2006 & all Caymans are hardtops.

Car in the picture is a convertable so it is a Boxster. Emblem on the trunk lid doesn't have a "S", Steering wheel is a 4-spoke & "S" models came standard with 3 spoke wheel. It's a Base model Boxster with 2.7 litre engine, worth about $ 3000.

So all Cayman's are Hardtops very interesting AND did not start until 2006
Thanks so much I knew someone would know here .
I know 911's and 928's but the Caymans are new to me , they sound instering with the increase in HP . I read they are all 6 speeds also .

The Boxster S and Cayman S are 6 speeds. The Cayman was also produced with a base model in 2007 with a 5 speed similar to the Boxster base model. So not ALL Cayman's are 6 speed.
