Hi,
I started this project a while ago and then ran into trouble when parts in the motor mechanism broke. I am now looking to finish up the top installation but can't remember for the life of me how the large weather strip that seals the back of the convertible to the clam shell gets installed. I assume it just slides into place, but there is a flap of fabric material from the top that covers most of it. Is this flap supposed to go in the grove before you insert the weather strip into it? I am referring to P/N 986-561-393-01-OEM. Also, on the new convertible top there are two flat plastic pieces sewn into the fabric where it mates to plastic sliders shown in figure 28 of this write-up. How do you adhere this part of the fabric to the plastic sliders? I have included a picture to help clarify. Thanks. -Brett ![]() __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: |

If I remember correctly: The plastic folds over into the groove, securing the top. Think of how your fingers fold, the tension of the fold holds the top tight.
