Top won't go down
'99 Boxster. The idiot light on the dash says that the top is not all the way up but it now won't go up or down. The fuse in the kick panel appears to be good. Is there any other fuses hidden somewhere in this car? I have a 328i convertible that has one in the trunk. I had a dead battery issue at the time this showed up. Could it be some sort of "reset" that needs to occur?

It is usually the top latch switch that goes bad and prevents the top from moving at all.
You can try removing and installing the cabrio control unit - it looks like a double relay on the relay board.

I pulled the control unit and reinstalled it just like you suggested and the top works great...again. Thank you very much.

Hello,
I think I have the same issue. My top is currently stuck up, with the dash light on. If I unlatch the top, the windows will come down a bit, and when I hit the button to lower the top, I can hear the motor trying. When I hit the button it goes Also, where is the controller unit you guys are talking about? Any pictures would help! Thanks! Stu |
