After changing the engine oil and filter, my 2003 986 is a little sluggish. The oil level is good, Mobil 1 0-40, and a Mann-Filter HU 719/5 X. The only thing I did different from the instructions was that I snapped the filter to the plastic housing and then attached the housing to the car. Could this be the reason? I highly doubt it, but just looking for answers.

I don't see how the oil change could cause a sluggish engine, unless it was overfull and blowing by into the intake.
I would look elsewhere. Check fuel control and see what is lacking when the problem is present. - Nick |

If you are worried about how the filter is seated, just remove it and reinstall it per the instructions. You'll only lose about a quart of oil if you are quick.
