Hi there, I'm looking at a 2004 Boxster S with 26,000 miles that has been a garage queen, but the guy changed the oil every 2K miles and changed the brake fluid twice. Car Fax is clean and documents the oil changes and brake fluid changes. Having read here that cars that have not been driven aggressively are more prone to IMS failure, if I buy this car, should I immediately drop the tranny and install a new IMS and RMS and Water pump? I hate the idea of cracking open a well cared for car just as a precaution. But.... Thanks for the knowledge.

It is better to prevent the grenade from going off. Yes without question install the LN Engineering IMS Solution ASAP!!! The car will accelerate more smoothly and you can cruise with confidence knowing you have an oil fed plain bearing on the intermediate shaft like that of the bulletproof Mezger engine case.
