Removing Boxster Convertable roof frame
About four years ago , I installed a replacement top with a glass rear window on my 2000 Boxster. Although AutoTopsDirect claimed that it had a life time warranty on the glass window bond when I purchased it, it failed and the glass fell into the rear deck area. The glass did not break and the top is like brand new considering we have only put 310 miles on it since the top was replaced and it was always parked in the garage.
I called AutoTopsDirect to discuss the issue and he claims that they didn’t offer the warranty until just recently and mine was not covered. This is BS because the life time warranty on the bond was the reason I selected their top. I will not deal with them again because they did not stand up to their statement. Anyways, I want to try to glue or bond the glass in place before replacing the complete top again. Is there a way that I can remove the mechanical top mechanism with the canvas top still mounted to it? It looks like it will be easier to glue the glass back in if I can get it on the work bench. Thanks Rick

You can look at their website at the time you bought the top....... |
