98 Boxster convertable top not working. Brake light on, windows go down properly, all fuses ok, light on dash is on, no sound of motor.. Also, need to access the engine how can I do this with top not working?

You can open the top via emergency opening / closing procedure.
You have to disconnect the 4 ball joints, 2 on each side. There is a lever tool in your tool kit for doing this. Instructions are in your owners manual. - Nick |

Over the years I have had several Porsches and BMWs and really enjoy my 2000 Boxster S the most of all of them! The power and handling/balance of the car plus the easy top down driving are terrific. I bought the car from a guy who had partial maintenance records. Overall I have had minimal issues with the car. I did have the IMS bearing replaced as preventative maintenance using the Alan ceramic bearing. Expensive but restored peace of mind!
