Wayne,
I realize you did this conversion with a 2000 excellent job... I did not see in your posts what the original transmission was. I have a 1999 with a 5speed and even after reading all the posts, can't figure out if I need to change it out to make this conversion work or not. Do you know or is there another article to point me in the right direction ? Thanks for all the info so far ! 2000 should be similar to the 1999 conversion. Maybe the easiest one to do. You should be able to use what is mentioned in the article.

The 1999 5 speed will not be a problem with an engine of similar vintage from a 911. Going with even a year later engine, you get into issues with the electronic throttle system which came in in 2000..
