I completed a swap on a 2001 Boxster S, went with a 1999 C4 engine, was fairly straight forward with no major issues since they are both drive by wire, but now it wont start, it pops on cylinders 1 and 6 but no others, the test noids light up on the injector wires, have good fuel pressure but no life. strangely it does the same thing with a squirt of starting fluid and with the fuel pump relay jumped, any ideas??

Possible the wiring doesn't match for the crank sensor or other terminals at the DME. The 1999 can have two DME versions, DME ME7.2 or DME M5.2. I would get wiring diagrams and compare the two.
