02s Help with Low beams

Trying to figure out where my low beams failed at.

1st Pulled out passengar head light and metered bulb. It had continuity

2nd Pulled out the two fuses for the low beams A9 and A10. Neither have voltage. With or without the head lights on/off

So I am thinking it is a bad switch but looking at the tech manual and the switch I can't figure out where power should come in (thinking Pin30) and where is should come out to go to the lights.

Really don't want to buy a new switch if that isn't really the problem.

Thanks

PS They haven't worked since I bought the car a few months back so I don't have a back story on how they quit.

These headlight switches are a well known problem; put in a new one.

I agree that it is probably the case but would like to know what points on the back of the switch I could test to see if it was indeed bad before spending $150.00 on it.

Quite often, you cannot find the fault by testing the circuits on the rear of the switch, but the switch is still bad because the fault is internal.

It is great that this gentleman was able to solve this issue with a new switch. With the wonderful engineering on these cars I am astounded that they cannot design and source a reliable headlight switch. I have a 2011 Fusion with similar (external) appearing switch that has never been any problem. My 98 Boxster base so far has had an issue with the headlights but still, maybe I should get a switch in advance.
Just venting.

There has been the theory that the weight of the keys affects the reliability of the switch. Mine was original at 58k when I sold the car. I had 2 keys and the fob on the ring.

This is the headlight switch we're talking about here, right?

I was. Mine was simply a no low beam issue. Switch fixed. All good on only 127 issues yet to fix. I wonder if he was referring to an ignition switch issue.

Holy mackerel! 127 issues, you sir are looking at a very busy new year! Yesterday I received my copy of Wayne Dempsey's 101 Projects for your Porsche Boxster, awesome book. Also, found a 16mm triplesquare bit at Pep Boys, about $8. Getting ready for spring maintenance tasks.
Happy New Year.

Murphy,
I rounded down... Previous owners abused this car bad. Luckily I have no budget, no experience. So between the two I should have it whipped in no time.
