Casey, thank you for all your help.
For my 2000 Boxster S the radiator fans turn ON when the AC is ON but both fail to turn ON when car temp hits 180f+, if I keep the AC ON to force fans ON the temperature continues to rise above 180f, I think it tops out at 205f, thoughts? is it ok to run the car at 205f? what is the max temperature the car can handle? Also, the coolant bleeder valve seems to be permanently open when the cooling system is pressurized, the bleeder valve can be closed when I open the coolant cap to release pressure when the car is cold. Is this normal? please advise. __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: Porsche Boxster Coolant Replacement / Coolant Flush - 986 / 987 (1997-08) - Pelican Parts Technical Article |

Sounds like the resistor Casey noted is faulty. A/C usually calls high speed on the fans, if low is missing suspect the resistor.
Here is a good discussion on engine temp: - Nick |
