Hello,
Thanks for all the great info. I'm preparing to change IMS bearing in my 04 986. I have purchased the Pelican bearing retrofit kit, and the LN 106-08-13 install tool kit. The kit only comes with one long lock plate for 3 chain cam to hold timing in place. Is it necessary to lock cams on both sides? __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: Pelican Technical Article: Boxster Intermediate Shaft Bearing Replacement and Upgrade (IMS) - 986 Boxster (1997-04) - 987 Boxster (2005-06) |

I prefer to lock both cams, however check with LN if they recommend one for your model. That may be why one tool is included.
