Love your site; I have a 99 Boxster; The convertible top will not open or close while the engine is running; however it works fine if I switch off the engine and operate off the battery; Otherwise the entire mechanism works fine. Any ideas on the cause of this problem? Thanks

Could be the gear is not in neutral or park, or seen in the correct state.

What is the state of the handbrake when it doesn't work?
Handbrake on, speed low are the normal conditions for top operation. There are hacks for bypassing those conditions.
