I just replaced my front rotors and pads on my 2005 Boxster S. at 38k miles. I used your Hawk ceramic pads and there was no problem with the install but my brake service light is on continuously. I reused the sensors which looked good. Any idea why my light is on?

The sensors are either faulty or not plugged in correctly.

What Nick said. There is an open circuit from either a worn sensor or it not being plugged in correctly. However it is pretty difficult to close the retainer if they are not plugged in correctly.

"Any idea why my light is on?"
1. I am assuming your light was not on before you changed pads??? 2. Coincidences happen! Check your rear sensors, they will also turn the light on. Troubleshooting tip: I always keep a spare new sensor. If that light comes on, I can simply unplug the sensors one at a time and plug in my "test sensor", without disassembling the existing sensors. When the light goes out, you know which wheel has the problem. |
