2000 or later?

I intend to buy an automatic boxster( hopefully an S) Likely a 2000 or maybe a bit later budget is 10 to 12000' any input on which year and why . I am holding some fund for the ims repair if not already done. Selling my 911 on BAT as I am unable to use a clutch now...

Take a look at the model year differences here.

Owned two, a '99 and an '01S both TIPs. Tradeoff between the two was double row IMS in '99 versus single row in '01 but ability to shift anytime with the steering wheel switches versus the '99s need to shift into manual before the change.

What would I buy? A '04 if I could find one for the glove compartment, the glass window top and other styling changes.

Mike - that is an excellent guide. Would you mind if we 'Stickied' it to the Boxster/Cayman section?

Use it however it will help the community.

Be aware I stopped maintaining it at some point. So it only goes to 2008.
