Alignment specs
Got new tires today and the shop tried to say I needed an alignment. I resisted because the old tires wore evenly and it drives very well.
When they gave me the printout I see they didn’t even realize that mine is a 2000 model and they were using 2005 987 specs. What are the proper specs for my 2000 Boxster S? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1525397080.jpg |
This is what I found from another thread, take a look at the link below for further info.
Front Toe: (L) +0.03 (R) +0.03 Camber: (L) -0.41 (R) +0.30 Caster: (L) +7.64 (R) +7.63 Rear Toe: (L) +0.07 (R) +0.06 Camber: (L) -1.68 (R) -1.68 The official alignment spec and review thread - 986 Forum - for Porsche Boxster & Cayman Owners |
Who aligns a car with negative camber on one side and positive on the other??

Your car and your tires, but a better alignment would quickly pay for itself in tire wear savings. It will also drive a lot better. No difference between a 2000 vs 2005 Boxster alignment.

What I don't understand is if the car was not scheduled for an alignment, how did the shop have this data to recommend an alignment since a lot of things get attached to the car and wheels in order to compute this data. |
^^^ I was referencing the specs posted by our host Dmitry....
