Camshaft specs 2.7 v 3.2
Hi guys,
I have been putting together my partners Boxster S (3 chain engine) engine following a chunk of bank two chain guide finding its way over to the other bank and becoming caught between the chain and sprocket, bending the exhaust valves. The engine was removed and was on a stand for several weeks. In the meanwhile, my workshop caught fire. The radiant heat melted all the plastics. As we’d already replaced the valves, we thought we might source an engine with perhaps failed ims for parts and press on. The engine we bought was said to be a 3.2. As two cams sustained corrosion, we decided to fit the cams from the parts engine. It was then we discovered it was actually a 2.7. So... does anyone have the specifications handy; overlap, lift etc? Might not be big enough a difference to worry about. Thank you |

Yes, I've had all the M96 cams [2.5-3.4] side by side and no visible differences. I would use the 2.7 cams with no worries. BTW; Anyone know where to get M96 [2.5/2.7/3.2/3.4] cams welded up and reground for improved street performance? |

Send your cam shafts to Elgin Cams in Santa Rosa, CA. They reconditioned my 911SC cams recently.
