Alternator problem?Acura CL

Last night when I got out of work I started my mothers car its a Acura CL 3.2 Type S and warmed it up. It has snowed and I was defrosting the car. I noticed the battery light was on and was flashing. The battery was reading a low charge. After I drove a few miles the battery kicked in to normal charge. This morning the light did not come on. I have an appointment later on in the week but want to know if other problems other than an alternator can cause this. Do I have and where can I to buy a Acura alternator? Do I have to change ot? Or I can buy in junk yard? BTW The battery is only 1 year old. Please give some advice.

It might be the alternator (from the symptoms that does sound like the most likely thing), but you should rule out other possible causes first. How's the belt, is it tight enough? All the electrical connections clean and tight? Particularly the battery (+) and (-) terminals? And so on.

I do not know which alternators are compatible with the CL ones, so if I were to go junkyard diving I would only be looking at CLs.

I think that Pelican can supply you with a new alternator, if that's what you want. If you cannot dial it up at http://www.drivewerks.com , you can call in and talk to one of our Sales staff and see.
