    Grady,

I saw in a thread where you said a 2.2 mfi pump will work on a 2.4 engine. I have similar question but in reverse: will a 2.2 (010) E pump work on a 2.0 engine? I have found a NOS pump but not sure whether to dive in or wait on the side of the pool.

    Thanks,

    Matthew

Grady, I saw in the past you had helped out a guy on the forum with info on a 4-cam engine he had aquired. I wish to speak with you about an engine I have a lead on to buy and will be looking at this week. Ime the guy today and it came up in conversation. It belongs to a guy who used to race VW back in the 70's. He said it is a 904 engine, and has had it for many years. He described the look of it, shape of the fan shroud, carbs, etc. and mentioned some specifics. I dont know if he is correct but based on the details its surely some sort of 4-cam. I need to know some basic things I need to look at, other than the obvious, to identify what it is exactly. Such as engine type stamp (are all 587/3?), also a range of engine #'s that I should be looking for, etc. I am awaiting pics from the owner, and will pass on when I recieve. Please message me if you can help. Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.--Telephunken

    Grady,
I've recently purchased the black #72 Porsche which I believe you drove with Jean Kjoller in the 1982 Datona 24hr race. I was hoping you might have some photos, program, articles or other information, stories etc from that race you would be willing to share with me. I'd be glad to pay for any reproduction costs and hope to meet you at some point. My email is nick@tridsys.com.

    Very best regards, Nick Karangelen

Grady- Your the man! I have my 914-6 FS on Pelican. Pelicans want to know what the latest 911 engine number is all about. When I bought the engine I was told it was a rebuilt 1969 2.0 911T. The engine on the rebuild invoice is 22959. Any information will be helpful. Quickspeedfix@yahoo.com

I still own RS60 #718 055, great to read so many references from you about 055 on the Pelican Forum (just joined). I would like to know if you could confirm that the Canadian racer/owner you bought the car from was Tony Campbell? Cheers, D.

    Greetings Grady. How's life?
I have no idea how or why I remembered this but I believe I never took care of you for inspecting a rodent infested 911SC Targa parts car a few years ago. My profound apologies! Please provide an address and I will remedy this.

    Many thanks,

Hi Grady: It is simply amazing to me just how many Porsche experts, like yourself, are truly honest, helpful torch-bearers for our collective interests. I am quite friendly with Gerry McCarthy & Rainer Cooney, who are much like you. The trip you took (and free advice & time you donated) to Melissa (Uber) was heart-warming. In viewing the photo of you with Melissa's garage of old Porsche stuff, I see a 550 (or 550A) exhaust system leaning against the garage wall. What can you tell me about it (which car, if you know) and is it available for inspection OR purchase. We have interest. As a side note I am currently collecting photos and information rekating to original exhaust systems that the factory used on the full run of 90 550 Spyders. We are finding quite a few differences (not surprisingly) from car to car. Many thanks in advance for your response. Rob Spyder550 in CT (Dad owned 550-0053)

Grady Clay. I have a 74 sporto engine 5 speed 175hp engine, and I am looking for any information you could give me on these engines. I have read that they were either 3 or 4 speed engines. If this is true I have one that has been upgraded to a 5 speed and goes like a shot and seems to be a really nice engine. Do you have any insight into these engines...Thank you for your time. Tep 10
