    Hey Greg!

Have you considered something like the rear seat shelf used on the 911 RS America for your back seat area?

I fabricated something similar for my Outlaw 356C and covered it with perlon carpet, it's super lightweight and makes a nice area for hauling stuff.

Eventually I'll fully restore this 356C but for now I have a functional interior that looks clean.

    Hey Darryl,

I just came across your website on your auto restorations. It is fantastic! I am really impressed by the quality and sensibleness of your work--and I am rarely impressed--especially with many Porsche restorations. I have learned a lot from your work.

I have an 87 Carrera that is Venetian Blue with light grey seats, door panels and trim, with dark blue carpeting. I am currently working on the interior and contemplating what to do with the rear seats. I have stripped out every speck of old soundproofing, glue, and padding. I am going to apply ultralight heat protection and soundproofing from Cascade Audio. I will probably change the carpet color to a medium grey and probably will just carpet the entire back but have enough padding to let someone sit there in an emergency. (I have owned three Porsche's and nobody has ever sat in the back!) I was thinking of using a cargo net that can be connected to the seatbelt and back seat side bolts when luggage needs to be carried in the back.

I would love to hear if you have any thoughts on my ideas since I have such great respect for your work.

Thanks Darryl. I'm sure that I will check in on your website often.

    Cordially, Greg
