Finally got over there to get my oil tank and cooler done, they wouldnt take the oil cooler, saying they dont do aluminum, ok, so lets get the oil tank done, basically the guy was trying to talk me out of having any work done with them, its going to break this, ruin the screen, wont take the paint off, wont clean like you want it to, dont know but I was the only person there, maybe they have so much business they dont need to do any work. I am going to pick up my tank tomorrow, fingers crossed it isnt crushed or something from the boil, lol.

Just curious if your father was on the same crew as my grandfather who served on the Bugs Bomby from 1942-45. I know the Pilot of the plane was Gabriel Martin but thru my research I think 2 crews flew that plane over its tenure in WWII.

Hey thanks for the reply, I am looking at having them boil out my oil tank, and oil cooler, pressure test both, and thats it, no coatings. I may have the oil tank powder coated if every thing checks.

Which Sims Radiator shop did you use for your oil tank cleaning? It looks like I am closest to the one in Conyers. Thanks for the help, Nathan

Bugs Bomby's serial number was 42-72998. My dad also did an oral interview in 2009 about his experiences. He was a career Air Force bomber pilot and retired in 1969. I am looking at the photo of Bugs Bomby --was your father the standing, smiling man with his arms crossed, with a hat, on the right-- R Roseno [?]. I am trying to find everything I can about my father. julanneallison@gmail.com I know nothing about engines or engine parts.

Great ! I just got your reply. I have spent a lot of time searching for "Bugs Bomby." What was your father's name ? I have the photo with all ten crew members and their names. Was your father kneeling or standing ? Dad wrote their names on the back. Was it Miller or Edmund ? Those are listed as "G" [gunner, I think]. He wrote a page about Bugs Bomby and the crew on the back of the photo. This photo was taken in Nov. 1944. I can send you the text of what dad wrote about Bugs. He said they bombed the battleship Haruna at Kure, Japan a week before the atom bomb. The Haruna is in Wikipedia. They were 30th Bomb Group, 392nd Bomb Squadron. Dad was a 1st Lt. and 23 years old. My father is kneeling, front row, on the left, hair down in his face, no cap. Each bomb painted on the side meant one bombing mission. I have no idea about how many Jap planes were shot down. there may be some kind of marking on the plane for that [?] see next post.

Dear Sunroof, I saw your post about your father being the waist gunner for Bugs Bomby, the B-24 in Saipan. My father is John S. Allison, the pilot of Bugs Bomby. He was very proud of the crew. Please contact me at julanneallison@gmail.com

    Hello -
I am seriously interested in the 911T you showcased in a recent thread. How can I speak directly to you about this. I have been looking for a restoration project that did not involve a lot of rust repair and this may be it.
I am long time PCA and Pelican Parts member so this is not joke. Funds immediately available.
    Thanks,
    Thomas Owen
