High fuel rail pressure R56 cooper s

My R56 is misbehaving, I have had the fuel pump refurbished ( ebay special ) my code reader says high fuel rail pressure and the live data stream says the same. It runs fine until the pump goes into emergency mode. The pressure is normal at tickover and low revs but starts to build as I rev the engine but not drop enough as the revs are backed off. I have ordered a new camshaft sensor. I have considered the fuel rail sensor but it reads as expected on startup. Anyone got any ideas? I miss my mini.

For an older and more primitive car (e.g., my 914) I would look at the fuel return from the fuel rail to the tank. A kinked return line (or some other blockage) can cause too-high fuel pressure. I don't know if the MINI has a similar setup--frankly, I haven't done anything more advanced than brake pad changes and a battery swap in my MINI to date, and don't know that much about it.
