2006 Mini Cooper S Service Engine Light On
Good Morning, All! I have a Beautiful 2006 Mini Cooper S that keeps illuminating Service Engine Soon Light continuously after filling up. Scan shows "evap leak". I have replaced the gas cap as rubber gasket was cracked and worn. She is not losing power, stalling or cold on start up - she runs fine. I took her in for a full diagnostics to check if her 02 sensors needed replacing and she is fine there as well. Any thoughts? She only has 69,000 miles on her. I am a 70 year old woman and somewhat Mini savvy so I may need replies in a more layman's language. Thank You. AbbeyLove

Your shop can smoke test the evap system. There's a smoke-generating machine that you can hook up to the gas tank or one of the hoses in the system. Then you go around the car, looking at the parts of the evap system for smoke leaking out. Once you see the smoke, you have an idea of where the leak is.
