I test drove both the regular Mini and the S at the St. Louis BMW dealer. Loved both of them. Fit and finish is pure BMW. The S is a true pocket rocket! I asked about prices on both and they claim will sell for sticker price.

Put that link together for some specs on the S. Or you can just go to www.edmunds.com/new and poke around for the info they've written on it.

I for one would like to hear from someone that has taken one of these on a test drive. I've seen two at dealer (Saturn and a hi-line used car lot) lots so if anyone is really interested they should be able to find one. I never buy first year runs so I won't test this year's car but think if someone here has driven one they should be able to give us a run down of how it performs.

I stumbled onto this cool link the other day and hope it's of interest to Mini fans. I was also just reading the Mini article in Bimmer and think I may have found my new daily driver if I don't get the 911 I want.

MINI's are appearing more frequently on area roads around here. Anyone who is in DC check out the MINI display downtown. It's at the corner of 14th and H St. NW. BMW's gov't relations office is around the corner and they set up a MINI showroom in some extra space they had there. You can't go inside, but there two great looking MINI's very visible to passers-by. I was over there yesterday and met a guy who was still on the wait list for an S.

i test drove an S at tate mini of annapolis, it was great! the mini almost handles as good as a 914. the acceleration and braking felt excellent. really it fells like more than 165hp and by looking at it's weight it should not feel as light and numble as it does. i cant really see a better value out there...
