I bought a auto zone battery for my 2006 mini cooper s. it fits fine except I do not see anywhere to hookup the grey vent tube. do I need this?

Yes you do. There should be a hole or a slot for a vent tube adapter. If it isn't obvious, contact autozone and have them show you where it is.
