having trouble seating fuel pump back into the tank it seems to be sitting on something 05 mini cooper s cheers kevin

Remove the pump and look into the tank. This way you can check if there is something stopping it from going in. If the pump slides into the tank, and stops, try gently rotating it. If it is hung up on the seal, apply a small amoutn of dish soap to the seal.
