I have a 2005 Mini Cooper S 6 speed. It has been getting consistantly louder the higher the speed and lower the gear. My first thought was tires, but am thinking more like drive train issue. Could this be caused by the need to change the fluid or do you have another possible cause. I appreciated the help.

My suggestion is to pinpoint the noise. if it sounds like it could be related to wheel speed. Inspect tire and wheel bearing condition.
