I have a 2005 mini with a standard transmission that on occasion will not go into gear this usually happens at an intersection after coming to a stop. It takes a few tries to get it to go into gear. My dealer thinks I need a new clutch, but I think I have linkage or gear problems Also could low transmission oil be at fault? Any ideas?

CHeck the hydraulic system, if it is OK, the clutch may be worn. Is the pedal high? I would suspect the hydraulic system.
