Help our Mini has a leak ,the engine over heated and no warning lights came on. It would appear that some thing is missing with the connection of pipe to engine ? Have no idea what has fallen off or why !!

I would pressure test the cooling system. If the system will not hold pressure and there are no external leaks the head gasket may be faulty. The external leak, if it shows up can direct you to the faulty component.
