Hey nick- always go to pelican articles for DIY mini... Looking everywhere for anything on replacing Oil Filter Housing, not just the gasket. Changed oil, new o ring, still have a so slight drip coming from housing unit.. Its a big job for just replacing gaskets instead of entire housing.. R52 2007 s convertible. Also can it be dne from below or does the front have to be removed etc... Or can it be accessed from below? Thanks in advance

You can unbolt it and replace from below. Access the fasteners from below, then sneak it out like you would the filter and lid. When removing, be sure the filter is loose, so you can remove it first, then the housing. It makes the job easier.

thanks-

Thanks for your reply- lastly, thoughts on gasket replacement vs entire housing?
So the heat shield can be removed from the bottom as well? Should anything else be considered while in there? Almost forgot, dip stick broke off inside and nothing we've tried has been able to remove? Is that a full radiator removal etc.. Any simpler shortcuts, it cannot be accessed through tube.. Ugh THANK YOU!!!!
My bf may just push my Phoebe over a cliff... He now believes BMW stands for Big money waster.
